STRIKES AT WSU (MTHATHA CUMPUS)
WSU classes have been paused due to the fact that many students have not yet been allocated to their rooms. They said that classes will not resume while they are facing this allocation thing because it is unfair that other students have rooms whereas others do not have rooms to stay ."There are some students who appeared on the pre-allocation but now they are denied their rooms ",said the other student.
IS THERE A NEED TO STOP CLASSES BECAUSE THEY SHOULD HAVE CONTINUED WITH ALLOCATION PROCESS WITHOUT DISTURBING CLASSES...WELL THAT IS MY OWN OPINION BECAUSE AT THE END OF THE DAY IT IS US WHO WILL BE AFFECTED.
You guys how do you feel about this??

Even though it inconveniences students who already started with their classes but I think stopping the classes is a good thing because some students are unable to attend classes because they do not have places to stay
ReplyDeleteBut remember that we might end up not finishing the syllabus
DeleteHow do you feel about the one's that are not yet allocated .be fair Asiphe that is not a good thing we all students and should be treated the same way.
DeleteThey did a good thing by pausing classes because we all know what they would've done other than that, they would've protested...
ReplyDeleteSo yah ✌
Stopping classes is a waste of they should have striked to draw more attention because most of accommodation is loaded by first years.
ReplyDeleteI think you should put yourself in those people's shoes, Imagine other students going to class and you still dont know where you are going to stay would that be fair?
ReplyDeleteYes there is a need because it is indeed unfair that others continue with classes while others are being left out because its not their fault.
ReplyDeleteI also used to not understand why students would be striking and stoping classes but I felt it when I was not yet registered ,it was hard for me to get on blackboard ,I was not appearing on class lists and I had to go to the department after every lecture. Trust me those were the worst days of my life I was frustrated while other students were studying
Lectures weren't even supposed start while other students are still waiting for the pre-allocation process. The system used in this institution is so stupid.
ReplyDeleteNo classes should not commence because it is not fair that some students are attending classes from their residence and some are struggling with residency .Our school is not fair at all i support that classes should commence after all deserving students are allocated.
ReplyDeleteat least they are not protesting
ReplyDeletewhat about those students that are from faraway places. I think the only language that WSU management understands better is action especially strike so it is okay to stop classes
ReplyDeleteI think stopping the classes is the best way to draw attention. One thing we don't seem to understand is that some of these people were told that they will be allocated and suddenly they were denied houses. Our management gave houses to people who didn't qualify for them and denied those that qualified.
ReplyDeleteI should say that it's like I'm on holidays because of this pause. Stopping classes may not solve this problem because if you want answers, you need to do big.

ReplyDeletefirst things first how can they start the classes without finishing registration and allocation, stopping the them is actually a good idea even though this will backfire to us all with load of work.
ReplyDeleteOkay guys i have heard your opinions maybe i'm just being selfish and too worried about work overload.
ReplyDeleteNo one wants classes to stop but we also don't want registration to take forever. And after all that to have no place to stay while you study is the cherry on top of a frustrating situation.

ReplyDeleteRegistration takes forever here at school. Then when you are registering the ques are long and no work is done ( at least on time) and to top it all off you end up with no room and no explanations too. Something needs to be done to ensure the registration process is as good as it should be.

ReplyDeleteWell, i also think that it is not fair that other students are attending classes while there are still students who are hooked up in the problem of not having accommodation.Management should focus on the problem of allocating those students who have not yet allocated rather than allowing classes to commence.
ReplyDeleteI also think that there justification in the pausing of classes because the students that are being denied residence are deserving students.
ReplyDeletei'm with you...
ReplyDeletewe have to be fair people, we cannot attend classes while we don`t have rooms
ReplyDeleteGuess what? when classes finally resume there will also be another strike for NSFAS ,it has became a norm here!
ReplyDeleteGuys this strike thing.. had killed our spirit for learning
